Dr. Steve Kozomara, Oakville Periodontist
Background and Credentials
Dr. Steve Kozomara holds a Bachelor of Science degree, with honors in Biotechnology, followed by his dental degree from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Sydney in Australia.
He practiced in Australia for 7 years and returned to Canada to complete his Specialty training in Periodontology at the University of British Columbia. He received his Master of Science degree from the University of British Columbia and was awarded the Nobel Biocare Excellence in Surgery award and associated grant during his residency.
Furthermore, Dr. Kozomara received the Doctor of Dental Medicine Teaching Award for his work with the undergraduate dentistry program at UBC in 2018. Dr. Kozomara has several peer reviewed publications in the field of pre-clinical cancer imaging using micro-computed tomography (ยต-CT) and gold nanoparticle contrast agents.
His associated research has been presented to his research peers at The International Society for Optics and Photonics annual conference in San Diego, California.
Dr. Kozomara practices full-scope periodontal and implant therapy, including bone grafting and sinus lifting. He is a fellow with The Royal College of Dentists of Canada having successfully challenged the written and oral RCDC exams.
He is a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Ontario Dental Association, The American Academy of Periodontology and a member of the Halton-Peel Dental Association.
Although he has been blessed to both live and work in some of the most breathtaking cities in the world, returning home to Oakville, Ontario was an easy decision. Being able to finally settle into a permanent home with his wife and 2 young children, has been a long time coming and a welcomed conclusion to their worldwide journey.
